Darrell W. Gunter is a leading expert in the fields of strategic business management, sales, marketing, semantic technology, mobile applications and social networking in the information and publishing industry.

Over the course of his 30+ -year career Darrell has served in key executive positions for the leading firms in electronic intellectual property industry including Dow Jones Financial News Services, Elsevier, Collexis, The American Institute of Physics and Allerton Press, Inc.

At Elsevier he established their first commerical sales, makreting and customer service organization as the Managing Director of the Americas.  During his 11 year tenure he built the team from 0 to 130 FTE’s and launched ScienceDirect, Scopus, BioTech Select, College Markets and a host of others electronic products to over 1,000 academic institutions.  As the EVP / CMO at Collexis he established himself as one of the leading advocates of semantic technology with the launch of BiomedExperts.com, Experts Profile and Reviewer Finder.

Darrell is very involved in the information industry as he is the Co-Chair of the Committee for Digital Innovation for the Professional Scholarly Publishers (PSP) and he serves as the Director, STM North America and Director of Membership for the International Association of STM Publisher and frequently speaks at SIIA events.

He has served an an Associate Editor for ALPSP Learned Journal and the Olin College of Engineering Library Advisory Board.  He also teaches consultative selling as an Adjunct Faculty for Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business. He is on the  non-profit boards of the Women Ventures Fund, 
EIES of New Jersey, Great Newark Enterprise Corporation(GNEC) and the US Boxing Federation.   Solutionzie, VeoMed and tapCLIQ have appointed him to their advisory boards.  Darrell’s radio show “Leadership” airs 8am Saturday mornings on WSOU 89.5 & wsou.net.

Darrell has a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business and an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
